Bank on Sudden Flight for perfect start

June 27, 2025

START Saturday's Reggae 6 with a banker, SUDDEN FLIGHT, returning among $200,000 claimers after being taken from Donovan Russell at the same level on Labour Day by Greg Fennell, since moved to Saqlain Roman.

A little over a month since changing hands at the claim box, SUDDEN FLIGHT galloped a half-mile from the gate in 51.0, prepping for the exact trip with Reyan Lewis called in to land the gamble.

Roman's familiarity with horses previously trained by champion Jason DaCosta recently led to a 14-length win with IANNAILINS, ridden by none other than Lewis.

The next three races are no walk in the park and should be ganged, taking into account any possibility lurking ahead of Sunday's mandatory payout.

Soundness will determine races two through four, not necessarily form, a factor which cannot be read in the form lines.

KING'S CROWN, JUSTIN BIGTIME, PINEAPPLE, MS CHERRY and SMART TRICK are all speedsters, any of whom could get away on the lead or blow chances at the start. Sprint races stacked with speedsters eager to make it to the half-mile are also fraught with dangers of disqualification, a possibility which must also be taken into account.

The third for $500,000 claimers at seven and a half furlongs presents a different challenge, horses who routinely play musical chairs at the level. Don't waste time trying to figure out who will be left seatless at the wire. REGAL AND ROYAL, MAYA, HUGH DIPLOMACY, FAULT LINE, SECRET MISSION and HEROINE will give adequate fire cover.

The fourth for $200,000 settlers should not be toyed with, especially at a blink-sprint trip of four furlongs straight. NINA DORADA, SILVER FOX, MANACO and LADY KATGHARA should see bettors through to the fifth and sixth races in which SENSATIONAL MOVE and DUTCHESS can be safely deployed as respective bankers.
