Child killed in crash involving NSWMA truck
Residents of Bonitto Crescent in Mandeville were left in grief this morning after a child was killed in a crash involving a National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) compactor truck.
The tragic incident happened around 7:00 a.m., but the NSWMA says details are still sketchy as investigators continue their work on the scene.
In a statement, the agency said its staff members are devastated by the news. It offered condolences to the grieving family, calling the loss unimaginable.
The truck involved is assigned to Southern Parks and Markets Waste Management Limited, the NSWMA arm that handles garbage collection in Manchester, St Elizabeth and Clarendon.
Police are now on location probing the tragedy.
