Labourer facing firearm charge

Richard Henry, 32, otherwise called 'Chardo', a labourer of Crackers Lane, Spanish Town, St Catherine, following an incident in his community on November 24.

Reports from the Spanish Town police are that at 1:50 a.m., a team of lawmen were on operation in the area when a search was conducted at Henry's premises. During the search a Taurus G3C pistol along with a magazine containing seven 9mm cartridges was found. They were seized, and Henry was taken into custody, where he was subsequently charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

His court date is being finalised.
