Gee Wee celebrates karaoke anniversary
Gee Wee Entertainment Complex in St Andrew recently celebrated three years as a prime karaoke venue.
The excitement was fever-pitch with performers being rewarded for their continued support.
They were given gifts from Red Stripe and other sponsors by host Boasy Boy Floyd.
"We want to make these persons know that they are very special to us. We call them our stars, as it is not easy to do it week after week," manager Marlene Topper said.
Patrons were greeted with a wide range of entertainment by performers, who said thanks through songs.
"When we started the karaoke three years ago, the idea was to give an alternative to entertainment. It is very pleasing that some of those who started with us are still here," proprietor Corine Jackwette, said.
The venue continues to be an outstanding oasis for patrons wanting to get away from their problems.
The complex is vastly becoming a top spot for entertainment events throughout the Corporate Area.
Based along Camp Road, the venue is renown for Friday karaoke. It is also the home of Wheely Bike exhibition, Remy Wednesday and Black and White episodes.
"This is it, we are here each week to play pool with friends. We sometimes just come and cool off, and eat some food, still, this is all good," Winthrop Tingle, a patron said.
Jackwette told The Star motorists can also have their vehicles aligned, washed and fixed while waiting to be served.
